Scripture Study

St. Jerome once stated, "Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ."

Here at St. Alban Roe, the goal of all of the Faith Formation opportunities is to help us to come to know Jesus Christ more intimately and to love Him more faithfully.  Obviously, Scripture study is an important part.  If you would like to participate in one of the several Bible studies, please contact Jim Blase at 636-458-2977 ext 227 or click here to e-mail.

There are three different studies that are offered at the parish:

Tuesday Morning Women's study

The Tuesday morning group is the only Bible study in the parish that meets year round, simply begining a new study when the last one is finished.  The new study is chosen based on the input of the group.  The group meets each Tuesday morning from 9:00 am to 11:00 in the Emmaus Room in the basement of the church, and always welcomes new participants.

A "Quick" Journey through the Bible

In response to many requests, we will be coming back to the "Quick" Bible Timeline study over the summer!  If you are interested, please contact Jim Blase at 636-458-2977 ext 227 or click here to e-mail.  We will meet each Thursday morning, starting July 8 and finishing on August 26.  We will meet from 9:15 to 10:30 am.  If you have already participated in this study, but would like to do it again, please join us!  If you have not done this study before, the cost for the materials is $20.

Epic: A Journey through Church History

While technically not a Bible study, this Timeline for the History of the Church follows the Bible Timeline in our journey through the story of the wonderful works of God (the mirabilia Dei), beginning in fact with the Acts of the Apostles.  The 2000 year history is divided into 12 periods, beginning with the Mustard Seed and continuing to today.  This 20-week study will begin in the Fall of 2010.
