Scripture Study

St. Jerome once stated, "Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ."

Here at St. Alban Roe, the goal of all of the Faith Formation opportunities is to help us to come to know Jesus Christ more intimately and to love Him more faithfully.  Obviously, Scripture study is an important part.  If you would like to participate in one of the several Bible studies, please contact Jim Blase at 636-458-2977 ext 227 or click here to e-mail.

There are three different studies that are offered at the parish:

Tuesday Morning Women's study

The Tuesday morning group is the only Bible study in the parish that meets year round, simply begining a new study when the last one is finished.  The new study is chosen based on the input of the group.  The group meets each Tuesday morning from 9:00 am to 11:00 in the Emmaus Room in the basement of the church, and always welcomes new participants.

Beginning on January 26th, St. Alban Roe will be revisiting the Timeline study in the Great Adventure series.  This time, we will follow the abbreviated 8-week version of the Story of Scripture.  Jeff Cavins presents a brief overview of the whole Story of the People of God, providing the tools for participants to be able to read and understand the narrative books of the Bible.  This study has two meeting options:

Tuesdays at 7:00 pm in Room 205 of the Parish Life Center, or

Wednesdays at 9:15 am in the Upper Room (in the basement of Church).

The Book of Exodus

Beginning on January 27th, St. Alban Roe will begin a 10-week study on the Book of Exodus.  Dr. Tim Gray provides a commentary on this pivotal event in Israel's history and explores how God, while bringing about the freedom of His people from physical bondage, also anticipated the freedom from sin which He accomplished through Christ Jesus.  This study has two meeting options:

Wednesdays at 7:00 pm in Room 205 of the Parish Life Center, or

Thursdays at 9:15 am in Alban Hall.
