Childcare (ages 0-3 years)
This is primarily babysitting assistance for those families choosing family formation for their children under 3 and too young to participate in the designated programs for children. A perfect opportunity for someone whose grandchildren may not be physically nearby to share their special love.

Preschool Helper (ages 3-K)
Utilizing the Montessori theory of learning, the preschool helper will assist the preschool leader in work related to the message of faith. Helpers will be the extra sets of hands to guide our youngest formation participants.

Catechist Assistant
After the initial introduction of the week’s main topic by the core catechist, the catechist assistant will provide necessary leadership to his/her group as they complete an activity surrounding the theme presented. This leadership will be with selected groups of children who will be divided by age/grade. (1st thru 5th OR 6th thru 8th grades)

LIFETEEN Assistant
This role assists Tony Phillips, LIFETEEN Director, with the different tasks necessary to prepare for and run the Sunday LIFENIGHTs for the high school teens.  The responsibilities may range from building props and sets to organizing materials to entering data on a computer, depending on the volunteers' skill sets and the needs for the week.  This service option will also require attendance on some Sunday evenings for the LIFENIGHT, following the 5:30 pm Mass.

Crew (setup/tear down for weekly programs)
A major part of the success of the Family Formation program lies in the “back stage” workings to prepare for each session and ensure everything transpires smoothly. There is no planning required for this role. The crew team will be assigned tasks to ensure all learning areas are set up, activity supplies are available and all other details are in place for a seamless evening of learning.
Will need to arrive early.

Prayer Warrior
The Prayer Warriors will be those who will devote themselves to prayer, either in the church or Adoration Chapel while the families are obtaining instruction in our faith.

Event Director
We will be seeking two individuals for this job to alternate weeks for the entire school year. The Event Directors will be the ones to oversee and coordinate everything that will occur in the evening at every level. Requires a high level of organization and attention to detail to ensure every event is “prepped,” all necessary people are committed and in place and all activities stay on time. This person will direct the crew and anyone else who is responsible for a smooth evening.
(Will need to arrive early)

Greeter
We will be seeking two types of greeters:
Family Greeter:  Will be for the personable and outgoing parishioner who will greet, by name, each family as they come to formation. This is a key individual who ensures everyone’s level of comfort is considered. (Arrive by 6:15p). Additionally, will assist with arts and crafts prep for future sessions.

Childrens’ Greeter:

This role is for the person who possesses wisdom and a caring attitude for the children. Childrens’ Greeters will be assigned a consistent group of children within a specific age group to work with all year. This person will take attendance as students report to formation, will collect up activity books, provide grading with encouraging words in  workbooks during class time and return the books at the end of each night. This position will be integral to developing an ongoing relationship with the children that welcomes them and helps them look forward to returning each week. (Arrive by 6:15p)

Budget Manager
The Budget Manager will fulfill the liaison position between the family formation program and the SAR finance office. He/she will understand the budget, use of funds and availability of funds for projects throughout the year.

Family Event Team
This team will meet two times a month to plan for each of the family event nights that will fall every five weeks in the Family Formation schedule. They will coordinate each night from start to finish, including planning for the faith formation family activity, the prayerful event to accompany it, (adoration, Mass, Rosary, Stations of the Cross, etc) and recruiting different ministries for each event to provide and serve the main dish for the night. The families participating will potluck the rest of the meal. There will be a total of seven family event nights to plan in the year.

RCIA
This service opportunity seeks adults interested in either sponsoring an RCIA candidate or being a part of the core team that studies and meets with the candidates until they complete their studies. This weekly obligation fulfills both the formation and service components.
